Thousands of Americans who believe vaccines injured them or a loved one have been waiting for years and will continue to wait years before special vaccine courts can even hear their cases.
Both the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) — which hears cases regarding regular vaccines — and the Countermeasure Injury Compensation Program, which hears cases regarding pandemic vaccines, are overwhelmed with the numbers of those claiming vaccine injuries.
According to POLITICO, in the two years of the pandemic, the Countermeasure program has received over 8,000 complaints regarding the COVID-19 vaccines. With the NVICP, thousands have been waiting for years to have their cases heard — and with the COVID shots now approved by the FDA, those cases will soon migrate to the NVICP, and add to the workload.
